engineered wood flooring over parquet
Can you lay either engineered wood flooring or soild wood flooring over parquet flooring. i have a rather old and paint spattered parquet flooring we would like to lay either engineered oak flooring or solid wood flooring on top. the guy in the flooring shop said that the old floor would have to be removed and the sub floor latexed.. Engineered wood flooring looks very similar on the surface, but it is made from a relatively thin layer of hardwood bonded over a substrate of high-quality plywood. engineered flooring is somewhat less expensive than solid hardwood, but most types can be sanded and refinished only once since the surface hardwood layer is relatively thin.. I have not seen the parquet but it may be old 3/4 parquet or i also could put a layer of plywood over top of the parquet to make it more meaty. what do you think. there is no height restrictions in the room for thickness of flooring.. engineered wood flooring over parquet
